An attendant need only start and stop the machine as required; all other parts of the production cycle are machine-paced and completely automatic. Controls include single, automatic and repeat cycles. Average production cycle time is a fast 12 to 15 seconds, with finished cores deposited upon an automatically indexing conveyor belt.
Shalco 315 Series machines are available in three models, with core box sizes ranging from 10” x 18” x 3” (254 x 457 x 76? mm) for the model 315-A to 15” x 18” x 6” (381 x 457 x 152 mm) for Model 315-E. Maximum blown core weight is 10 lbs. (4.5 kg) for the Model A, 30 lbs. (13.6 kg) for Models C & E. Model A machines have a maximum tooling weight (movable half) of 450 lbs. (204 kg), while Models C & E can handle core boxes up to 800 lbs. (363 kg). All models have a 5’ (1.52 m) soft belt conveyor on which the finished cores/molds are automatically placed as they are ejected from the tooling.
The ruggedly constructed 315 Series machines feature rigid, all welded tubular steel frames, and are supplied fully equipped with all cylinders, valves and controls ready for installation and hook-up. Controls are relay-operated solenoid valves or programmable. All production sequences are timed automatically, with sand fill and gassing cycles precisely metered for consistent quality and control, cycle after cycle.

321 Series
The all-purpose fully automatic shalco model 321 solid core/mold production machine is the ultimate in foundry automation. Designed for continuous operation, this Unit produces and delivers finished cores and is so completely “self-contained” that no operator is required. These features make the 321 a must have for high production foundries.
The core box capacity is 29.5” wide by 32” high 10/10. Closed generating and purging system prevents gas leakage, built- in core ejection and automatic conveyor zed core take-away eliminates labor. Rapid cycling assures all the Benefits of a cold box, hot box, shell carbon dioxide methods and all controls are interlocked for attendant safety and machine production.
